One nice upgrade West Ashley has seen over the past decade is the addition of the Greenway. It is an 8.8 mile green trail used for jogging and bicycling. This old railway is a straight shot that parallels highway 17 south (lso known as Savannah Highway) and traverses through several older neighborhoods and makes it's way into the rural outskirts of the area.
