North Charleston Homes
Adjacent to historic Charleston, South Carolina, North Charleston homes can be found in the 76 square mile area known as North Charleston. The City of North Charleston was incorporated in 1972.
In 1996, the Charleston Naval Base closed and greatly affected the North Charleston economy. Today, there is a successful cultural arts center and coliseum, a professional hockey team and an outlet mall. The local paper mill has over 1,100 employees.
The Air Force base is located next to the Charleston International Airport. In 2009, Boeing Aircraft moved to North Charleston, establishing it as one of the major aircraft centers of the world. North Charleston is a now a thriving industrial city.
North Charleston homes vary from condominiums to exclusive homes. Residents range from single professionals, to families with kids, to retirees.
One of the first areas to be designed and developed was Park Circle, which included sections for industrial, commercial, and residential usage. Park Circle was planned as one of only two English Garden Style communities in the US and most of the original planning concept remains today.
The properties in the area are priced in the range of $100,000 to $500,000, and up.
There are many subdivisions to choose from, and many offer a wide-range of amenities.
If you enjoy swimming/boating, riding bikes, playing golf and/or tennis, you can find these in your neighborhood, or very close to most North Charleston homes.
