Many buyers new to the area fall in love with Daniel Island homes because the area is one of the most unique real estate offerings on the East Coast. This community is extremely well planned, and offers a relaxed, low country lifestyle that many buyers appreciate after visiting the area for the first time.
The owners of Daniel Island homes enjoy a master planned community that is connected with a series of trails and parks. Interestingly, the Daniel Island property was once inaccessible prior to the development of the Interstate half beltway that connects the various parts of Charleston. At one time, this area was farmland, and when the Interstate 526 was built, the new access brought a newly planned community a few years later.
Daniel Island homes are located on two distinct sides of the island. The first side that was developed in the late 1990’s is referred to as the south side. It offers a close knit community that is centered on a distinct group of parks.
Daniel Island homes are built around the following parks:
Early purchasers of Daniel Island homes were taking a chance, as prior to the development, there was just a great deal of land and it seemed like the first homes were in the middle of nowhere. Each of the Parks were built in succession and over time the community started to take shape. The Parks began to connect and the Daniel Island homes began to feel like a community that was being connected by the trail systems and amenities as they were being built. Values began to rise as a result.
The North side of the Island is referred to as the “Park Side” is more exclusive and feels completely different from the south side. With two professional grade golf courses, and a beautiful country club, Daniel Island homes on this side are more expensive and offer more green space. Values for Daniel Island homes in this area start at around $800,000 and can move on up depending on the size of the home and the lot configuration. Deep water lots, marsh front, golf course and interior lots all have a different price point associated with them and can impact the ultimate market price accordingly.
