Ion Subdivision-Mt Pleasant, SC Single Style Homes

Charleston SC classic single style homes are unique to Charleston, SC. I'on is an award winning neighborhood that has developed the largest cluster of the Charleston single style floorplan outside of Historic Downtown Charleston.  While there are rumors amongst local Charlestonians that that they were built narrowly because property taxes were based on how much street frontage a home had. The narrower the house, the less one would pay in taxes. This is certainly not the case for I'on. This popular plan was a way to eminate the feeling of living downtown, and also offered the ability for developers to use narrow lots as a footprint to the neighborhood layout.

Charleston single style homes in I'on subdivision offer large piazzas, on either the side or the front to boost the curb appeal, while also allowing a neighborly visiting place in the evenings. I'on is truly a unique neighborhood and while there are several house styles available in I'on, the Charleston Single style home is clearly the most recognizable-signature style of Charleston.
