Downtown Charleston

By any measure--commercial, cultural, historical or geographical--Downtown Charleston is the center of life in the Low Country.  Daily life downtown includes an amazing variety of experiences:
•    A brisk morning run around Colonial Lake
•    The shoulder-to-shoulder excitement of the historic City Market
•    Vibrant art galleries on Broad St

•    Bars and restaurants of every variety on East Bay St
•    The Bohemian college vibe of Calhoun St
•    A romantic evening walk along the Battery

…and on and on!

Your home selection in downtown Charleston is a veritable architectural history lesson covering the 18th century to today. And prices…well, prices are what you might expect living in the heart of all the excitement.  But Downtown Charleston’s history, ambience and charm are worth the investment!

Daniel Island

A newer development with a classic island-town feel, Daniel Island was designed from the ground up to be a true community.  In just over a decade, Daniel Island has grown to include just about every feature you might imagine in a small town…so many that you may never have to leave the Island!

All of your daily needs are right at your fingertips in Daniel Island, including:
•    Daycare,
•    Public and parochial shools,
•    Diverse retail options,
•    Professional services, and
•    Dining galore!

Daniel Island also features the Family Circle Cup tennis center, a private golf course, and the Charleston Battery professional soccer team.  And, to complete the self-contained community feel, Daniel Island is also the home to major Charleston-area employers like BenefitFocus and Blackbaud.

Folly Beach

Each of Charleston’s beaches has its own distinct feel. Folly Beach is definitely the area’s youthful, artsy, Bohemian beach.  In Folly Beach you will find a wide range of properties, from modest beach shacks, to neat cottages, to million-dollar beachfront homes.

There is an easygoing vibe in Folly Beach; the owners, renters, residents and tourists get along peacefully. Folly features an exciting assortment of beach retail--from surf shacks to funky boutiques--and a happening club scene after dark.  For your day-to-day necessities, James Island is only minutes away.

In James Island, you are never far from the water. The river and harbor surround you, and Folly Beach is only 15 minutes away.

John's Island / Wadmalaw

There is a unique feel to the Johns Island / Wadmalaw communities. While they are as close as 20 minutes to downtown Charleston, they retain a very rural character. For the buyer, this means larger lots and room to spread out.  And it means privacy and peace and quiet at the end of the day.

Of course, you will find all of your daily necessities like grocery, dry cleaning and professional services—right next to roadside produce stands and farmer’s markets! For rural charm and urban convenience, look no further than Johns Island and Wadmalaw!

Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant is a large, family-friendly community. It’s spread out, with plenty of room to grow. Because of this, it has a newer feel than some other communities in the Charleston area.  Mount Pleasant offers the buyer many newer subdivisions, with a wide range of home styles and the very latest home features and amenities.

Playtime opportunities abound in Mount Pleasant. You will enjoy antiquing, a wide variety of restaurants, and great shopping--from boutiques to the larger name stores. Patriots Point, at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge, is a great jump-off point for naval history, scenic harbor tours and family fun in general.  And you are only minutes away from the beaches of Sullivans Island and Isle of Palms.

North Charleston

Business is booming in North Charleston!  Shipping, paper processing, defense contracting and an enormous retail base combine with a central location to make North Charleston the area’s economic powerhouse.  Rivers Avenue features mile after mile of retail, from older shopping plazas to auto dealers to Northwoods Mall—the area’s largest shopping mall.

There is tremendous housing opportunity in North Charleston. From older, established neighborhoods to modern developments, North Charleston is very affordable--especially for first-time buyers. And investors will enjoy a wide selection of single and multi-family properties to broaden their portfolios.

Sullivans Island

Sullivans Island is a very family-friendly community.  Here, you will find mainly larger, newer beachfront houses.  You can also take advantage of numerous deepwater opportunities along the Intracoastal Waterway. There are also many fine interior, non-beachfront homes to choose from.

Sullivans Island is far more of a residential beach community, and less of a tourist spot than nearby Isle of Palms.  It is quite scenic, with tremendous boating access and pristine beaches. Fishing, sailing and kite-boarding are popular sun and fun activities. Sullivans Island is a very short drive to all of the shopping and day-to-day necessities Mount Pleasant has to offer.

Sullivans Island has its own claim on literary history. Many street names and the local public library commemorate one of the Island’s most famous residents, Edgar Allen Poe, who spent a brief and restless Army career at old Fort Moultrie. Sullivans Island also later served as the setting for Poe’s short story, The Gold Bug.

Summerville

Summerville is a large, growing community with acclaimed schools, located about a half-hour west of Charleston. It’s charming, nostalgic downtown is full of well maintained Victorians and Craftsman bungalows. There are also several newer developments, and a wide range of housing prices to attract a variety of buyers and investors.

Retail is fully represented from one end of town to the other. The hub of activity in Summerville is at the I-26 interchange, where most of the big-name retailers and box stores—as well as dining, hotels and cinemas--are located.

West Ashley

Situated across the river from downtown Charleston, West Ashley is a large, family-friendly community with an urban flair. West Ashley features newer developments, as well as more mature neighborhoods of charming, cottage-style homes. Many mature lots and plantings surround you, giving a more established, homey feel.

A world of retail awaits you in West Ashley, from the Citadel Mall to the big box stores. And don’t forget Avondale, West Ashley’s older “downtown” area.  Here you will find quirky boutiques, charming bistros and funky nightspots.

West Ashley also offers you easy access to I-26 and 526, the downtown hospitals and the industry of nearby North Charleston.

You were very honest, direct and I knew you were genuine when you talked us out of buying a house because of the location. Thanks for everything!. Kirk Matenaer

I commend you particularly for politely putting up with my sometimes cantankerous, if not outright offensive, goading for results; I now realize I was in excellent hands all along, and I could not have asked for better or more courteous direction in the whole process. Dr. Adam Smolka

Your research and explanation of the entire process left us feeling confident in your abilities to follow through and get the deal done like it should be. Bill Chakos

Your experience, your calming demeanor and your ability to consult us in such a streamlined fashion was invaluable. Tonya Chakos

We sincerely believe Nat's competence, hard work, attention to detail, and most important his immediate action were the reasons our home sold in one day. We are now able to make plans to relocate. Victoria and Daniel Doyle
